Guest Post - Ann B Harrison
I was at a library talk the other night with a few romance writers and one of the most common questions I hear came up.

“Have you read Fifty Shades of Grey?”

Uh, hell yes. Along with millions of other people, I did read it and I’m not ashamed to say so either. Okay, I get it, you either love it or hate it. Being a writer myself I kind of swing both ways on this one. I loved the storyline, rich tortured guy finds himself infatuated with innocent young girl who tries to save poor tortured hero. Happy ever after with a bit of tension and loads of sex and you are guaranteed to have a winner on your hands, right?

Well, yes and no. The complaint I hear the most against the books is, the editing. Sure it wasn’t that great but I can read past that if there is a good story and E. L. James had a great story in my opinion. She had all of the elements wrapped up in that little package. And she had a killer marketing plan very few of us can get away with.

But do you know what it is that I loved the most about the whole deal and nobody can deny this? It changed the way we read. Yep, now you can sit in the train with a romance novel and not have to hide it behind the Sydney Morning Herald. And it can be a steamy romance novel too because that is what Fifty Shades has done for us, made it more acceptable to read erotic romance in the open. I mean, how many of you got a copy  in your Christmas stocking last year? I know my daughter did and she wasn’t the only one in our circle. All the men were talking about it and it was available in the local grocery store!

Gotta love it right? I do because it made it so much more acceptable for us authors to write it. It made all the difference to me. I normally write rural romance with sex. Not a lot but still steamy by some peoples count. Now I can happily write my little heart out, sex scene after sex scene and not get frowned at. That makes this author a very happy little girl.

The Club - Two for One is my steamy romance and I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks E. L. James J

Book Description:

Nothing is going Lizzie’s way. Her sex life is unsatisfying, her job sucks and she has more debt than she needs thanks to her loser brother. Against her better judgment, she lets her best friend sign her up to be auctioned off at a high-rolling venue called the Club. Agreeing to a weekend of adventurous sex with a stranger is one thing, but being bought by the brothers who own the Club means Lizzie is up for a weekend beyond her wildest fantasies.

Ryan and Lizzie hit it off, in bed and out, but it’s his quiet brother, Trace, that has her heart pounding and her panties in a twist. But is Lizzie what Trace needs? Having been burned before, will he take a chance on what his heart is telling him or trust his instincts and send her home after their weekend is over?

Excerpt
“That can’t be legal, surely. And even if it was, no. No way am I going to let you auction me off to the highest bidder for a weekend of sex.” Lizzie sat stunned on the couch, her gaze on Bel.
“Do you have a better idea? There is no way you can lay your hands on that sort of money in a hurry anywhere else, not unless you become a drug mule or something totally gross.” Bel pouted her lips in distaste.
“And being sold for sex isn’t on your gross-out meter?”
“No, of course not. Sex is natural anyway, and you’re always complaining you never get anything worth talking about. Why not use your God-given charms to earn a decent living. It’s not like you have to do it all the time, but this auction is a big deal.” Bel ran a finger down a long, slim leg, feigning disinterest, and then looked up with a smile. “All the high rollers come out to play, and there are some very hot guys amongst them too, I might add.”
“Have you done it, sold yourself I mean?” Lizzie clasped her hands in her lap.
“Once or twice. I make enough money running the bar, but how do you think I got this flash condo? I needed a deposit and my boss’s said it was fine.”
Lizzie licked her lips and blinked rapidly.
“Ooh, you’re thinking about it.” Bel laughed and clapped her hands.
“I can’t think about it, look at me. Who in their right frigging mind would pay for sex with me?” She self-consciously tucked a lank strand of hair behind her ear.
“Let me get the guys to do a makeover for you. Allen is always asking if he can get his hands on you.” Bel rested her chin on her hand and watched Lizzie.
“But I can’t let him do me over. I just can’t.”
“Why not? Come on, Lizzie. There is no one out there with better taste than Allan. Let him have a go, please? I’ll even advance you the makeover cash.”
Lizzie sat twisting her hands together while her mind raced. “I don't feel comfortable anyone seeing me looking like this. Those makeover guys are so trendy and I'm not.”
“Exactly why I want them to work on you.”
“How much money are we talking about making here?” She risked a quick glance at Bel, kicking herself when she saw the satisfied smile on her girlfriends face.
“I got twelve-thousand dollars the first time and nine the last. A fresh face always brings in more money though.”
“But even with the right clothes, I know I wouldn’t look as good as you do.”
“I hate the way you don’t have any confidence, honey. Just let me call Allan, please? You don’t have to put in for the auction just yet. You have a couple of days to think about it, although I think you should just dive in with both feet.”
“Yeah, you would. I though, am just a little bit more cautious than you are. What if I get a weirdo who wants all kinds of kink, or someone whose idea of a good time is hurting me?” Evil thoughts were now racing through her mind as to why this wasn’t such a good idea.
“I can tell you for a fact no one will hurt you. My boss runs an elite club with clients who have tastes…how shall I say…a little different to those a normal escort agency provides for. Their lifestyles don’t allow them to explore their needs the same way most people would in a normal relationship, hence the Club’s service. They are all vetted and known to Trace, my boss. He makes them pay a huge bond, and if any of the girls get so much as a bruise they lose it and she gets a bonus. But hey, a bit of kink may be what you want anyway. You set the rules at the very start.” Bel smiled and raised an eyebrow at Lizzie. “Here is your chance to try out all of your wildest dreams.”
Lizzie squirmed in her seat as her list of fantasies raced through her mind. A delicious warmth spread between her thighs and she clamped her legs tight and took a deep breath.
“Okay, call him then. I don’t have to say yes to the auction, do I?”
“Well, it might pay to. I would hate you to get sick over owing me money for the makeover.”
A rush of fear swept up Lizzie’s throat, threatening to swamp her.
“Not that I would worry about it, you know that. But I know how it would eat away at you.”
“Just call Allan and let him do his worst before I change my mind.”
